 SCHOOL MAGAZINE

JOURNALISTS FOR A DAY

The school magazine is a project that carries out the whole school together. It consists of a summary of the different things that happen at school each week and important announcements that are necessary to communicate. 

Each week there will be a different class in charge of writing the school magazine, where you will find different sections: 

• Cover: It will be a drawing of one of the students from the class in charge of the magazine. The whole class will draw one cover and the rest of the partners will vote for one. 

• Recent events: In this section students will write a summary of different activities that have taken place during the week. They can also include pictures and personal opinions about the different events. 

• Articles in English: In this part, students will write a little opinion essay about different topics related to education. Some examples are: How do you work well together? What can you do against bullying?

• Irish project

• Sport club results

• Book recommendation 

• Important announcements

• There will be also a part that each class can do differently, encouraging their creativity and imagination.

VIRTUAL ESCAPE ROOM

This project consists of a virtual exchange program carried out through the eTwinning European portal with a school from the Galway in the Republic of Ireland. 

In the different tasks, learners have to collaborate and communicate in English with their partners from Ireland in order to solve different challenges in an educational escape room related to the culture of the foreign country. They will have to work with a partner from Spain and a couple from Ireland. The name of the Escape room is “Exploring Ireland'' and it will be divided into five main blocks of content: Geography, the festivity of Saint Patrick´s, music, school, and celebrities. Furthermore, they will also develop a final challenge to review all the content learned.

As they are working on the different challenges related to the culture of Ireland, one school from this country will be doing their corresponding tasks related to the culture of Spain, that is why both schools will help each other in order to achieve the objectives deserved. To achieve this purpose, students will have to cooperate and exchange information with their peers. The more productive the conversations are, the better the results will be. There will be challenges where learners will just have to support their peers and help them, acting as guides; but also, there will be activities impossible to solve without the help of their partners, that is why communication is one of the most important aspects of this program.
